Approach
Julia always brings her knack for understanding systems and recognizing patterns to her work as a coach and consultant. Since her years as a biologist, Julia has been motivated to understand what truly drives a person or system to behave the way it does. She firmly believes in focusing on patterns rather than trying to solve problems one at a time, and looking at people as being part of a system (work, family, friend group…) to understand what motivates and triggers them in different settings. Unsurprisingly, she wants to continue her development as a coach in systemic (team) coaching. Julia’s clients appreciate her sense of humor and relatability, making it easy to feel safe and at ease during coaching sessions.
Leadership Development, Coaching & Consulting Experience
Julia spent 4,5 years at the Boston Consulting Group in Amsterdam and served clients from various industries (healthcare, fashion, banking…). Her projects included developing custom Generative Leadership programs and modules. Since 2023, Julia also regularly coaches student consulting teams for Wageningen University, focusing on how to develop efficient and pleasant interactions and ways of working between team members and between teams and clients.
Other Relevant Experience
Before becoming a coach and consultant, Julia worked as an academic researcher at UNC Chapel Hill (USA) and the Max Planck Institute (Germany) where she gained a lot of experience in proposal writing, scientific publishing (as an author, editor and peer-reviewer), and teaching. She currently serves as a member of the Impact Committee for Thuja Capital, a healthcare-focused venture capital firm.
