Hilary Harvey

Hilary is a leadership development consultant and coach with over 10 years’ experience across social care, non-profits and professional services. She specialises in co-production and systemic interventions that help leaders and their teams achieve lasting results.

Her approach is collaborative. She builds relationships of trust and supportive challenge, helping clients draw on their own strengths and resources to make meaningful change at individual, team and system level.

Hilary works with a wide range of health and social care organisations. She has supported the development of patient voice organisations such as Healthwatch and Experts by Experience, a nationally recognised best-practice example of co-production from Look Ahead.

She has delivered leadership training across the private, public and voluntary sectors. She is a pro-bono member of the leadership team for WYSE International, a leadership education NGO affiliated with the United Nations. She serves as Programme Director for the Internal Leadership Programme, which identifies emerging leaders around the world and supports them to create change in their communities.

Hilary is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA), nominated for her contribution to the development of co-production best practice.

Hilary’s background is in learning and development, gained at a global management consultancy where she worked on large-scale projects for the Department for Work and Pensions. She has worked at both grassroots and strategic levels to develop co-production thinking and best practice.

She was a founding member of a national social enterprise using time credit systems as a mechanism for person-centred services, working in partnership with the New Economics Foundation (nef) and NESTA.

Hilary has designed and delivered a national co-production training programme for health and social care practitioners, commissioners, housing and community development professionals. She has supported local authorities to co-design services with their service users, and has run co-design workshops with asylum seekers, adult mental health service users, carers, drug and alcohol support service users and adults with learning disabilities.
