“You aren’t strong enough until you are strong enough to be gentle.”
Dr. Donald Haney, Sr.

Approach

On a trip to the hardware store with my dad when I was about 8 years old, I really wanted to help. I tried to carry a heavy bag of sand, but I could barely get the bag off the ground and stagger a couple of steps before dropping it. If I had kept trying, I could have injured myself, knocked things over, or torn the bag and made a big mess. My dad had to stop me and explain that even if I could lift the bag briefly, I wasn’t strong enough to carry it gently.

In our rapidly changing world, too many leaders struggle with a similar issue. They see many needs and have a strong desire to help. So, they push themselves and their teams to do things that may be possible for a short time but are not sustainable. My passion is helping leaders with both parts of this issue: building skills and capabilities to increase what is possible and building good prioritization habits that keep work sustainable. In this way, I hope to help them lead thoughtfully, purposefully, or as my dad might say, gently.

Leadership Development, Coaching & Consulting Experience

Since becoming an Associate with TPC Leadership in 2022, I have been providing leadership coaching and facilitating face-to-face and virtual leadership development and career development programs for a range of clients, including a global energy company, a global management consulting firm, a global financial services firm, and others. I have also been providing leadership coaching, face-to-face facilitation, virtual facilitation, and learning design for non-TPCL clients in the energy, management consulting, and healthcare industries. In January, 2026, I also became the Managing Partner for the US office of TPC Leadership.

In addition to my work with TPC Leadership, I bring over a decade of experience designing and delivering leadership development programs, coaching leaders, and consulting on business problems. At Boston Consulting Group, I served as head of Learning & Development for North and South America and later as the global owner of the learning journey for new hires. I also delivered leadership training and one-on-one coaching to newly promoted managers. Prior to joining the L&D organization, I spent four years as a Consultant and Project Leader serving BCG’s clients in oil & gas, utilities, and other industries.

At CNOOC-Nexen, I served as an internal organizational consultant and executive coach for the US division of this multinational oil & gas company while also managing multiple HR functions. My main consulting project was a reorganization and consolidation of three locations into a single headquarters, and I coached several of the top leaders as they took on new roles, built new teams, and made changes to the company strategy.

Other Relevant Experience

In addition to L&D, I have experience leading in finance and operational functions. I was the Director of Corporate Planning for Pride International (now Valaris Limited), an offshore drilling company, with responsibility for strategy, forecasting, and mergers & acquisitions. At CVS Health, I was the Sr. Director of Operations Support for part of the pharmacy benefits management business, leading a team responsible for vendor management, quality, forecasting, and IT project management.

Having worked and led teams in a wide range of business functions allows me to ask the right questions and share relevant experiences as part of my coaching practice.
