Are you personally feeling some tensed muscles?
Are you feeling difficulty in relaxing physically?
Are you feeling restless?
Is there some constant worrying because of COVID-19 across the globe?
Is there any feeling of insecurity that you have?
Is there any outburst emotionally and anger?
Are you crying for no reason?
Is there lack of humour that you can feel within you?
Do you have impair decision making?
Do you have poor time management?
Do you feel reduced creativity innovation or boredom?
Are you indulging or see others engaging into alcohol or tobacco or caffeine more than before?
Are they you biting your nails?
Do you see workaholics around you?
Do you see too much eating habit in yourself or too little? so I must say that the people you are thinking about
while you are reading this, are all suffering from stress and what is the antidote to stress and negative kind of stressors that are emotionally hampering the hormonal ability of body and that might lead to the raised Cortisol levels that lead to various diseases.
I am not going too scientific, that we actually talk about in our programs while we train coaches/ leaders across the globe, on stress management, neuroscience, different scientific studies that talk about emotions and how do we cope up, how do we enable each other deal with different emotions, intelligently.
Today to we talk about, how to combat stress there is a term called resilience and as per the Harvard Business Report, definition of Resilience is the ability of recover from setbacks, adopt well to change, keep going in in the phase of adversity, it is about how to reach out and how to endorse. Resilience is the dynamic quality not the permanent capacity, so it can be learned, research shows that the resilience can be learned and three characteristics of the resilient people are;
They have staunch acceptance of reality and they have a deep believe often supported by strongly held value that life is worth living.
They are serving their purpose through their passion & potential. They have uncanny ability to improvise. They are looking at silver line around the cloud they are not looking at the half glass full or half glass empty. However, the look at there is a glass and there is a water in it. I want to tell you one theory that my coach and mentor in 2007 when I had her as a leader for me, while I was working with international travel company, she blessed me with one great advise to utilise CIA prinicipal when I feel stressed, when she told me at first, I got curious and asked her if she could say more. And she specified C as in control, I as an Influence, A as in acceptance. I asked her, how can I activated CIA , she said always ask yourself what am you worrying about? Then what is in your CONTROL, what can you INFLUENCE, what you would have to ACCEPT?
As soon as I did this, I felt that I could make sense of the anxiousness that I was feeling earlier and became more efficient as soon as I ask CIA upon sensing anxiety of any sort.
And now I call it as activating personal CIA, to deal & make sense of situations, to influence emotions, for wiser actions! So go ahead, Activate your personal CIA, help others to do so as well.
