Geraint Thomas

Geraint is a “hands-on” consultant, in so much as he sees the importance of making any training/facilitation/coaching or consultation about what is going on within the environment rather than seeing it as something that learners “go to” to get out of working. He thinks that any form of learning has to have context otherwise the learning goes nowhere. His focus is on how every team member works together to get the best out of each other – whatever they are doing. When this happens, the environment becomes one of collaboration and the organisation gets the best from their employees which in turn benefits the organisation’s morale and ultimately the “bottom line”. Geraint is passionate about ensuring learning is “fun” and also connects to the brain and heart. If learning is enjoyable it becomes memorable and more likely to be remembered and used back in the workplace.

Geraint has worked as a facilitator, consultant and coach both in-house and on a freelance basis. He has been doing this for over 18 years within medium to large global organisations (including Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, and BlackBerry). During the last five years most of this has been focused on leadership development working with all levels of management/leadership, especially looking at how leaders present themselves to their staff and to the wider world. This can include defining what their personal brand stands for, having the ability to flex that brand and understanding how their sense of credibility with others impacts their capability to perform with consistency.

Originally Geraint was an actor and uses the skills he honed to bring energy, a sense of fun, curiosity and a storytelling ethos into everything he does.
