What Is Cultural Activation?

Cultural activation is the process of mapping out the ways you need your people to think and act, and designing messages, ways of working, and HR structures and systems that will support this.

Many organizations attempt to redesign processes or test new ways of working, but to create lasting change we need to ask different questions throughout the process:

  • What do we value the most? Is this reflected in our structures and systems?
  • What is driving the way we think, relate and make decisions?
  • Where is there cognitive dissonance between our words and our actions?

How We Approach Cultural Activation in Your Organization

Cultural activation is part of a whole-business approach that helps you deliver on your organizational strategy. Starting from the inside out, our approach is measured, experiential, and sustainable.

Cultural Change Roadmap

We will work with you to find areas of focus for cultural change, both in terms of quick-wins and longer-term transformation. Cultural change roadmaps are typically framed to support your organization’s overall strategic transformation approach, so significant emphasis is placed on alignment to create the business outcomes you seek.

Behavioral Framework

We will work with you to identify the behaviors that will feel meaningful and purpose-driven to your people – and which will support your wider strategy. This will help us to establish how your organization can redesign its culture.

Designing Communication

We’ll ask questions to get to the heart of how you deliver messages to your people and stakeholders. Then we’ll apply different communication approaches to articulate what matters to your audience and improve buy-in.

Analyzing Systems

We’ll help your HR teams in examining and redesigning policies and processes so they uphold your desired culture – this might involve looking at performance management, incentives, recruitment, professional growth and so on.
