Jill Saville
Don't wish it were easier, wish it were better (Jim Rohn)
Approach
Jill managed operational and policy teams for over 30 years in UK government departments, giving her hands-on experience before moving into coaching and training. But it is her passion for equality of opportunity that led to her role as director of Equality and Diversity for the Legal Services Commission and followed her into coaching and leadership development.
Determined to be a lifelong learner, she introduces insights from her studies into her coaching and training. These include theories on leadership, adult maturity, neuroscience, appreciative inquiry, Process Communication, Emotional Intelligence (E-IQ), team development and the transformative Conversational Intelligence – C-IQ. People appreciate her empathy, calm challenge, energy matching and her ability to create a safe space.
Leadership Development Experience
Jill developed people for many years before qualifying as a coach in 2008. Since then, she has been determined to show the value of coaching in every sector, working in private, public, and not for profit. Her clients have been as diverse as banking executives to professional musicians, from managers of private mental hospitals to scientists working in artificial intelligence. The common factor being that everyone is human and so the keys to behaviour and performance are the same. In 2011, she joined the John Maxwell Team which enabled her to be part of the leadership transformation processes in Guatemala and Paraguay through the concept of Roundtables.
Her main activity is to be a thinking partner to executives and she recently held a series of leadership roundtables within one of the ‘big four’ for executives to have ongoing development rather than a few days out of the office. She also creates a growth environment for small groups of individuals who want to grow but don’t find themselves in the right environment.
Other Relevant Experience
Investing in the next generation is one of the most rewarding things she does and 2018 has seen the beginning of her mentorship programme for young professionals which pairs up young people with senior leaders who have been part of her leadership groups.
As Jill is working in the leadership and communications sphere, her own personal development is important. She has taken on a number of voluntary roles in recent years to help with this aim which are listed below.
