{"id":7868,"date":"2021-05-05T11:43:47","date_gmt":"2021-05-05T10:43:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tpcleadership.com\/uk-en\/uncategorized\/team-coaching-a-case-study\/"},"modified":"2026-03-18T15:57:50","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:57:50","slug":"team-coaching-a-case-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tpcleadership.com\/uk-en\/developing-leaders\/team-coaching-a-case-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Coaching &#8211; A case study"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #ff9100;\">TEAM COACHING \u2013 A CASE STUDY<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TPC Leadership delivered a 1:1 and Team coaching programme over a 12 month period supporting the client in forming a new team structure with a high profile Formula One racing team and constructors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff9100;\"><b>________________________________________________<\/b><\/span><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ff9100;\">Business context &amp; drivers for the organisation\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aim of the programme is to support the need for a clear vision and ethos within the department amongst senior members of the team.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Objectives\/required outcomes for the client<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shift in mindset and developing self-confidence<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enhanced capability in leading others<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Embed the learning and best practises across the organisation<\/span><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff9100;\"><b>________________________________________________<\/b><\/span><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ff9100;\">Interventions<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regular 1:1 coaching sessions, followed by quarterly coaching pair team days.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ff9900;\">Challenges<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We lost momentum for 6 months after the first sessions due to Covid-19. An earlier shift to remote coaching could have helped maintain momentum and provide support to the coachees during a difficult period of transition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Team coaching requires that those involved see the need\/want to be a team. This was stronger in some instances than others.\u00a0 We worked well to develop and build the trust for the team foundations to be created.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #ff9900;\">Outcomes\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There was strong evidence of increased cross team collaboration, cross fertilisation of ideas and support for the newer Team Leaders. Many congruent and parallel experiences were shared and this created the potential for healthy dialogue and empathy across these roles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feedback from the client indicates that participants:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The coachees became more coachable through the journey as we together found better ways to understand wants and needs.
