About S.P.S. Dalal
A former senior military officer of the Indian Navy, Dalal is the Founder and President of the Stress Management Research Institute (SMRI), Delhi, India. He is a leading Corporate Thinker, an International Trainer and a Research Scholar. He has conducted over 2000 workshops in India and abroad on Stress Management, Work-Life Balance, Life Management, Pressure of Time in Modern Life, Lifestyle Management etc. for frontline companies and organizations. He has also delivered talks on subjects related to the purpose of life, managerial effectiveness, executive health, concept of happiness, relevance of Indian philosophy in modern life etc. His workshops gained tremendous popularity since their launch in India in 1999 and have been patronized by frontline companies, top industrial bodies of India like CII, FICCI and ASSOCHAM and AIMA, the apex management association of India. He has also been conducting workshops in ISB Hyderabad, the No. 1 Business School of India, the National Police Academy for training of IPS officers and LBSNAA Mussoorie for training of IAS officers. He is also engaged in further research and designing of programs for enhancing managerial effectiveness. He has vast experience in management at all levels. He himself has been through many high stress assignments involving stringent deadlines and zero error syndromes and fully understands the dilemma of the modern man.
He has been decorated by the President of India for rendering distinguished service. He is recipient of the ‘Rising Personalities of India’ award by the International Penguin Publishing House for his outstanding services, achievements and contributions. He has been internationally recognized amongst the dynamic men and women who are front runners in various spheres of human endeavor and have scaled heights against odds to achieve excellence. He has presented papers at various national and international forums and made a mark in original thinking and received global distinction for contributions to the society. He has traveled extensively in India and abroad and interacted closely with heads of states, ambassadors, diplomats, well known corporate leaders, modern spiritual researchers, management gurus, great yogis and spiritual masters of international repute.
During his career in the Indian Navy he held several high profile assignments including Assistant Naval Advisor to the High Commissioner of India at London, (UK) for 3 years, Director of Naval Operations and Command of frontline ships of the Western Fleet. His last job prior to leaving the Navy was Deputy Director General in the Defence Planning Staff, a body that directly advises the three Service Chiefs on macro issues of the Indian armed forces. He is a graduate of the College of Naval Warfare and a postgraduate from the National Defence College, New Delhi, the highest seat of learning for the Indian armed forces where officers from the Indian civil services and foreign armed forces of about 20 countries of the world participate. He has dedicated considerable effort towards a movement started by him for “Building People for a Better India; Better World” in terms of a contact program and service to the youth
